It's Holy Week already! What even. It seems only days ago that we were celebrating Christmas, and now it's Lent! Time, why you fly so fast?

And so I've come to ask you to help me, flist! Come Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and Black Saturday I'll be completely off the internet. I'm already planning on re-reading at least three books and marathon-ing movies. Rec me some stuff! Or ask for fic, icon, tumblr image, ANYTHING so that I can be busy. HALP.

To answer your question on Tumblr the texture that's used in this and like A GAZILLION other things. It's nice enough but I'm fucking SICK of seeing it.

[identity profile] zarahjoyce.livejournal.com 2011-04-19 03:59 am (UTC)(link)
Wow. I... in fairness, I haven't seen that texture that often, but yeah it can be pretty grating :\

[personal profile] the 2011-04-19 04:01 am (UTC)(link)
Ugh I usually see it on my dash at least once everyday from miscellaneous reblogs. It's like when certain text textures get overused I get too critical of their implementation.

[identity profile] zarahjoyce.livejournal.com 2011-04-19 01:14 pm (UTC)(link)
:\

THIS REMINDS ME, do you have any place where you get your textures for bigger pictures? I am severely lacking in large-pic textures and I'd love to get my hands on more.

[livejournal.com profile] texturize! Just browse by tag for what you're looking for et voila!

HEY HEY CORDY

Oh! I'm actually a member of that comm, but I was wondering if there are others, hehe.

[personal profile] the 2011-04-20 03:50 am (UTC)(link)
lol probably! But I tend to find anything I need there. What I need is a good PSD comm. Or to learn how to actually USE curves layers but eh, learning, who needs it.

[identity profile] zarahjoyce.livejournal.com 2011-04-20 03:54 am (UTC)(link)
Whereas I am just. Guilty of relying on curves layers a littttttttle too much, lmao. It's my go-to "add effect" technique, since it's the only thing I know.

YOUR FACE

[identity profile] zarahjoyce.livejournal.com 2011-04-19 01:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Ahaha! It's been a long time since I last wrote a D/Hr fic (excluding the one for the exchange). We shall see :D

[identity profile] reetinkerbell.livejournal.com 2011-04-19 09:16 am (UTC)(link)
You're still using the computer? Honestly, to me, that would make it far more difficult for me to stay off the internet. Or maybe that's the point, to make it more difficult?

"Howl's Moving Castle" Diana Wynne Jones. If you've already read it, read it again. If you've already seen the film, see it again and then read the book too.

Good luck!!

[identity profile] zarahjoyce.livejournal.com 2011-04-19 01:16 pm (UTC)(link)
I was thinking if it were a requested fic I could write it in my notebook, but yeah... staying the hell away from the computer is better so I don't tempt myself.

Thanks! I haven't read/watched it, and I'll keep my eye for it if I go to a bookstore or something :D

[identity profile] reetinkerbell.livejournal.com 2011-04-19 01:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Do you have wi-fi? Because if so, then it's not as easy as hiding the cord either.

Library?

[identity profile] zarahjoyce.livejournal.com 2011-04-19 01:31 pm (UTC)(link)
That's true, plus unplugging it isn't really an option since my family also uses the connection. I do have The Hobbit and LOTR trilogy lined up for me to read, but more things to do will be awesome.

I'm afraid that isn't an option, since I don't live near one :\

[identity profile] reetinkerbell.livejournal.com 2011-04-19 01:32 pm (UTC)(link)
That should hopefully keep you occupied for a while. Lay a 5000 pieces puzzle?

That's a shame. :(

[identity profile] zarahjoyce.livejournal.com 2011-04-20 03:41 am (UTC)(link)
The only one I have's already done (and framed, even!)

It is D: I would love to have a community library near us. Imagine all the books I don't have to buy so I can read them :(

[identity profile] reetinkerbell.livejournal.com 2011-04-20 09:03 am (UTC)(link)
LOL. I would not have the patience for it!

I would look for some kind of online downloading place - they might not have new books, but a lot of older ones where the copyright has expired on should be available for free downloading, legally. I can't remember exactly what it was called, but I want it to start with G (Greenberger? I don't know), and it also had 'Project' in it's name - it's like a website where a lot of these books are available. Sorry I can't be of more help there.

[identity profile] reetinkerbell.livejournal.com 2011-04-20 09:05 am (UTC)(link)
Not Greenberger, but Gutenberg: http://www.gutenberg.org/wiki/Main_Page

[identity profile] zarahjoyce.livejournal.com 2011-04-20 02:17 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't even know why I did it! It was a puzzle for my zodiac sign (Sagittarius) so :P

HOLY CRAP I AM SO BOOKMARKING THAT PAGE.

[identity profile] reetinkerbell.livejournal.com 2011-04-21 08:11 am (UTC)(link)
Was it a gift?

You're welcome. :)

[identity profile] zarahjoyce.livejournal.com 2011-04-24 07:13 am (UTC)(link)
I bought it a long time ago :D

[identity profile] reetinkerbell.livejournal.com 2011-04-25 08:45 am (UTC)(link)
I think it could be kind of fun to lay a large puzzle, if it's raining and you're out in the woods. But, the only time I am out in the woods, sequestered off the mainland (seriously lol) I am in a place that does not suit puzzle pieces at all. First of all, I wouldn't have the room for a large puzzle and second of all, if it's raining, or just even damp in the air (and it often is, since it's an island and there's lots of forest around) the puzzle pieces would get affected because we camp in (large) tents, so they would get all squiggly and stuff, you know, like cardboard gets when it's wet. Not exactly fun.

[identity profile] zarahjoyce.livejournal.com 2011-04-25 10:22 am (UTC)(link)
Well to be honest, I haven't been out in any type of woods, so you win on that one :P The thing I remember about that puzzle is that, instead of forming the front picture with the zodiac sign you slowly form the back of it, section by section, since the puzzle is divided into sections and there's a specific letter for each one so it's like forming smaller puzzles before the bigger one. I'm not sure if all puzzles are like that, or if other people ignore it for the ~challenge, but I'm all for making life easier so :D

[identity profile] reetinkerbell.livejournal.com 2011-04-25 10:32 am (UTC)(link)
So a little paint-by-numbers, but not? I don't know if other puzzles generally have that - I don't think the very large ones does, because of the challenge. Not that I've seen anyway, or else people wouldn't sit and sort and sit and sort and sort and sort and sort out the edges, so they can start with the frame, and then sort like-enough pieces together into groups.

What did I win? :P

[identity profile] zarahjoyce.livejournal.com 2011-04-26 01:07 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm afraid I have nothing to give you, sob! D:

[identity profile] reetinkerbell.livejournal.com 2011-04-26 02:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Then you shouldn't tease!

:P

[identity profile] steelthorns.livejournal.com 2011-04-19 11:37 am (UTC)(link)
Oh man, my mom had to tell me and I had a moment of 'shiiiiiiit I'm a bad Catholic. >_>'

It's REALLY HARD TO REMEMBER THAT STUFF IN CHINA, I guess. ~_~

[identity profile] zarahjoyce.livejournal.com 2011-04-19 01:17 pm (UTC)(link)
It's really inescapable here in the Philippines since it's a long holiday and all :P

[identity profile] etapa.livejournal.com 2011-04-20 12:18 am (UTC)(link)
Can I ask for Gokai fics? ;) And IF it's okay, a Joe/Luka icon, too ;P

For re-read, you could go with the LotR trilogy, me thinks, but as I can see you have that already lined up for the read ;) Other than that, I'd suggest Sentai marathons? That can be pretty fun, too. Either for any you might not have seen yet, or that you did and love so would love to watch again :) Comedy shows are also good for laughs; laughing is quite a stress reliever.

[identity profile] zarahjoyce.livejournal.com 2011-04-20 03:44 am (UTC)(link)
You can bet I'm going to icon the crap out of ep 10, so at least the icon part will be done :P As for fics, I'll see what I can do! :D
