1. Ugh, Gokaiger. Blue/Pink DNW :( And Luka's pose is seriously mucking up my perception of Yellow Owl, Yellow Turbo and Yellow Four, AND SO MANY OTHER YELLOWS. Heh.

2. My notifs are like. Not coming at all. For everything ever! And it's annoying because I have everything separated in folders and all sporadic notifs from LJ aren't even going to their appropriate folders. Ugh, what.

3. My first post at ATP ~~and I already coded it wrongly sob~~! Seriously guys, if you have an LoTR character - app him/her at

dramadramaduck. I beg you! More castmates = more awesome. Same goes for Super Sentai because... well, for pretty much the same reason :P

4. I am considering dropping CFUD :( Ughh, I hate this feeling. I have the best castmates in the world and yet I am utterly failing at the old man. Sorry, guys T__________T

I am so with you on the Blue/Pink thing. I was groaning and cursing at the screen most of the episode. Major DNW.

It might be a throwback to Shinkenger? If I recall, Shinkenger's ep 4 was also Blue/Pink, with Ryuunosuke and Mako.

I couldn't help thinking that myself. (Of course, I ship Ryuu and Mako so that one worked out to my advantage)

What bugs me is that normally I'd find this kind of episode adorable but not when it gets in the way of the OTP I'm already shipping. I'm a loyalist when it comes to my pairings...which is probably why I shouldn't choose one in the first episode *sweatdrops*

Ahahaha yes! I agree with this completely. I shipped Kotoha/Ryuunosuke before Shinkenger aired, and that was pretty much shot by the third episode, so when ep 4 rolled in... I was okay with M/K. For some reason I really ship cool Blues with Yellows and this episode just grates on that. UGH.

*pats* At least it's not as bad as what happened to me with Kiva. I STILL have not forgiven the writers for that.

...yeah. For me, the one pairing that I still rage at the writers at is Cordy/Angel from Angel. Just... sob T___T

You didn't like this episode? I think it was cute, but there probably won't be any canon 'ships among the Gokaigers, Toei hasn't done that for a while

Eh, not really? I don't know. I guess I haven't really warmed up to Ahim just yet.

I have not warmed up to her as quickly as I do with most Pinks :(

Aww! I guess she's adorable in small doses, because I loved her in ep 1 and 3. There's just something grating about her, idk.

Hahaha! I don't know about that. I pretty much posted like one post ever since I got in CFUD around Nov/Dec and I'm just scraping by activity checks, and I only reply to castmates since my interest in the game is... very low. Old men are hard to play, 'yo :(

It bugs me a little that we have another series where the Pink Ranger is the sensitive one who always understands everyone else the best. I adore Mako, I adore Eri, but three years of the same character type is too much!!

I think Jii is not an easy character to write for because a lot of his purpose in the show centres around Takeru, whereas the Shinkengers each have their own arc

Well, yeah. I would actually like a Sakura-esque Pink again because Sakura is Ms. Awesomesauce Badass of the highest degree. I wish Ahim retained her royal highness-ity with her own teammates as well - like she's ordering them around like servants - because that will be a great source of conflict for the crew, although I guess we'll have a reason why Ahim's so kind and nice and ~perfect.

YES, exactly. And it's hard to get him involved with plots because as an old guy he... won't have a lot of interest in that sort of thing. It's very limiting, which is probably something I should have foreseen before apping him.

I would like to see more Sentai where the girls are Pink and Blue or Yellow and White or something, instead of yellow and pink every year. Also more Sentai where the main girl on the team is the tough one and a guy is the emotional support (like Timeranger or Go-onger)

I could rec some old school sentai for you? Changeman has Pink/White, though subbed version of this season is limited. But yeah, I do like Go-Onger in that they risked to change things up with a Yellow/Silver. Jetman had Blue/White, Magiranger Blue/Pink... I'd love a Yellow/Blue girl team because that would be awesome.

The activity check in CFUD is really just LOOK AT ME I AM STILL HERE unless you are apping a crazy number of characters, and then you have to prove it. I PROMISE.

Also I would miss you like burning and make six or seven dozen SAD EMOTICON PANDAS until you apped again. Mostly so I could keep touching you. This totally counts as helpful. FAVORITE OLD DUUUUDE ;;

I flipped through the scans of this week's Gokai, and my reaction was pretty much this --> -_- As you can tell, when it comes to Blue/Pink, I'm either quite against the idea (Deka and Gosei), or don't care much (Mega). Notable exception is Shinken, I actually like the Ryuunousuke/Mako pairing.

I do wish that Toei will give us a Blue/Yellow pairing one day. WHY WON'T THEY? So many potentials had been there! Hoji/Jasmine (my all-time favorite OTP), Souta/Natsuki (though admittedly I shifted to Masumi/Natsuki by Task 14...), Retsu/Ran, Hyde/Moune (though I had to reluctantly give up somewhat on this one due to Moune being 17)... WAAAAAAAH, is it really so much to ask?

With all that said, though, I admit I'm not into the idea of Joe/Luka just yet. In fact, at this time I don't think I have a ship for Gokai at all. Do I want to? Like

solarsparkle mentioned, it HAS been a while since Toei has given us a canon pairing, the last one being Rio/Mele.

I do wish I could join you for DDD, I really do... But apparently I still don't have the energy or something like that T_T I'm a bad RPer.

I am thinking of the other times I shipped Blue/Yellow (other than Hyde/Moune), and aside from that and Deka's case and Gokai, I am blanking out. Oh! I do like the thought of Shun/Chisato and I cheered for it so much in Mega ep. 40 because I didn't like Miku that much :P I pretty much shipped Natsuki/Masumi in Boukenger though, and in earlier Sentai shows my default was Red/Yellow (Bioman, Maskman, Changeman to name a few :P)

I honestly don't know why I ship Joe/Luka, but I guess it's because I automatically ship the cool Blue with the female Yellow, hehe. Also, I see Marvelous/Luka and Luka/Don as more of a siblings-type, I guess, with Luka being Don's older sister while Marvelous is pretty much her older-by-a-year brother, or something.

♥ Don't worry about it! I just wanted to put it out there in case other people want to app other characters from other seasons in DDD, hehe. I have hope it could happen!

Bwahahahaha! I like that term :P And while it's somewhat soon-ish for me to make any decisions, I think I'll join the boat of DNW for Joe/Ahim. Maybe the idea of anything shippy seems to fit better for Ahim, with her being a princess, as opposed to Luka being an actual pirate... BUT THAT'S NONSENSE AND WE ALL KNOW IT, DON'T WE???

I admit I haven't seen the whole series for Megaranger just yet, so I'd have to watch more to decide whether or not I like Miku (I liked her in the Gao VS SS). The dynamics of a Shun/Chisato combi seemed pretty cool, though I guess that in the overall I ship her more with Kouichirou.

I think your description for Luka's relationship with Marvelous and Hakase fit very nicely. Her interaction with Hakase is hilarious! Poor guy! I do hope to see some more for her relationship with Marvelous and Joe, too. That shall help me decide for what pairing(s) to officially ship (because it's fun to ship).

I do hope more folks will join DDD. It'll be nice to know you'll have more companions with you ;)

Next week will bring Deka XD I actually had some dream about it last night, only it was Hoji who was there with Jasmine. LOL, I must really love those two. I want more fics with them, darn it. *is not making much sense*

Ahaha! I think the only eps of Megaranger I didn't watch are the ones where Silver was recruited? Yeah, I really didn't watch that arc, but I gobbled the before and after like mad. I was hooked for a few months and someone was uploading stuff up at veoh and I was a happy camper. Chisato/Kouichirou is definitely the way to go, though!

I actually like Ahim to be with Marvelous or Don, since Pirate/Princess is pretty much a trope and Ahim/Don has the potential to be cute ♥ Imagine them just... scurrying like little children wearing their aprons and stuff, hehe. Luka/Joe is like two people on equal footing, which is appealing to me :P Buuuuuut yeah. Things and shipping preferences can still change, though! Shinkenger taught me that :P

A-Aww! I wish it were Hoji with Jasmine, hehe. That would have been nice. I'm really not that fond of Deka, for some reason, but I adore the heck out of Hoji/Jasmine.

Does this mean I can hope for fics with Kouichirou/Chisato in the future? +_+ It's a shame that Kouichirou's actor has retired from acting, I'd have loved to see this pairing show up in Gokai T_T

Hm. Marvelous/Ahim sounds like fun. If they go that route, I'll give my blessings, LOL. Ahim/Don does sound cute, too, but that one I'll have to see a bit more before deciding how I'd want to ship them :P And even if I'm not officially shipping just yet, WORD on Joe/Luka. That can be quite appealing, indeed. We'll see how it goes. We're just getting into the fifth episode, after all.

YES! Why couldn't they bring Hayashi to reprise Hoji? T_T Guess I can only hope that should anything be mentioned, it won't have to do with making my ship a doomed case. I WON'T BE HAPPY IF THEY SINK MY OTP!

I'm quite partial to Deka because it is the season that brought me back to the Sentai world, and has some of my favorite characters and pairings. But I guess I can understand why people wouldn't necessarily be fond of this show. It was a rather unique-ish story, lacking the usual plot and instead bearing the look of a procedural drama, with a-case-per-episode stories (the MOTW) with an overall case (Agent Abrera) that runs through the season.

You liking Hoji/Jasmine always makes me quite happy. It was because of this pairing that you approached me (I was already a fan of your work at the time... Imagine how flattered I was when you posted a comment <3), after all.

Great thing about characters not dying is that so many possibilities exist! People may not have validated a ship, but at least they didn't disprove it either. /words of an eternal non-canon shipper ahoy!

That's my feeling towards Boukenger, actually! But unlike you I can be quite unforgiving of those who didn't appreciate it :P I didn't know that seasons of sentai existed beyond the ones shown here, so I was really, really shocked to find out they do. Geki/Go-On didn't appeal to me at all, so I took the time to find out about other seasons, which was how I was able to watch the others :D

Oh, I remember this one. It's one of those writings I like to call a rare gem :D I totally could see Shun secretly liking Chisato (I mean, I don't recall indications of him liking Miku, so... I'm allowed to let my imagination run wild, no? :P). Poor Shun. ~~But it still makes me happy that Kouichirou would ask Chisato out. Yeah, I'm horrible.~~

WORD. And even if we can let our imagination run wild with the non-canon, it's always nice to have canon to back it up. And by that, I don't mean just canon evidence that validates a ship, but the canon "evidence" that comes by not disproving stuff. Because while we do have fanfics to make us happy, the canon will always bring some sort of influence on fanworks in the future. (not sure if I'm even making sense...) And I'm glad that you're on the non-canon shipper boat. Otherwise that'd mean one less Sky/Z and Draco/Hermione writer! (wow... I AM quite horrible)

Boukenger was fun for me. It was loaded with humor, and it has one of my favorite Pink senshi (Sakura). It's not exactly my all-time favorite season, but still an enjoyable one.

LOL, I remember how we met because I really WAS flattered. You had commented on my manifesto on Hoji/Jasmine. I knew your penname because I used to be an avid hunter for Sky/Z fics at that time, so imagine what a pleasant surprise I had when I saw your name in my inbox :)

Very true! So many times I'd find a pairing I like, only to learn that fanwork about them is hard to find. The bright side was that much to my luck, when I did find, they were usually a fun, fun read. So when I'd find them, I'd save links or even print them, LOL.

But f-list encouraged me to give it a shot, and some even wrote fic just for the sake of the manifesto. So I had to try ;)

No problem! Fwiw, there are other sentai manifestos there. There's Hikaru/Urara, Akashi/Sakura, and Sen/Umeko for het sentai pairings. There are also Mariko's manifestos for Ban/Hoji (Dekaranger) and Domon/Sion (Timeranger). As far as I know, she was the first person to write a manifesto for Sentai, so in a sense, she had a huge part in giving the inspiration for more Sentai manifestos to come :)

And there are other lovely pairings out there... *hint hint*

I didn't really read it as romance, tbh-- I mostly was annoyed that Ahim wasn't more active in rescuing Joe. :( She just gets caught and the other three Valiantly Appear. I know the theme was friendship, but sheesh.

Ahim... isn't really seen doing anything, tbh. Even in ep 2 when she went after Marvelous, she was just standing around :\ I still wish her character was bitchier rather than so nice and so ~kind. Right now she's just... bland.

I don't mind her being not too developed right now, since we're only four episodes in, and most of the effort's gone into establishing the world and history so far. My beef with this moment was that she was supposed to be a bad ass rescuer, but gets derailed almost immediately. :/

(Although notice that Joe of course still gets to have a truly amazing finishing move, even after getting imperiled.)

Well... technically it is his focus ep, and since he was the one who got targeted almost exclusively by the big bad. It was a gorgeous finishing move, though.

Ha, it was, but I generally get pissy about this (so of course, I watch a lot of shows geared to little boys :(), and it's not like the narrative would've come to a standstill if Ahim had gotten in a swipe or twi.

Ah! Now I agree - although I'm not sure Joe would have appreciated that, considering he didn't allow Marvelous and Luka to go after the bad guy. It would be better if she was also given a solo blue thing instead of sharing with Luka, and then given a finishing move of her own - just so recognition of her sharing Joe's focus up will be recognized. idek.
