this is a useless post.

I can't believe how out of shape I am right now! I tried doing the infamous IXA-Cise for a couple of times and the next day I'm like... sore. ALL OVER. SOB. And now I found a bunch of belly dancing videos in youtube and I found out two things:

a) I can't belly dance.
b) I seriously cannot belly dance. I'm just... doing all sorts of awkward shimmying while doing it. SOB dancing ability I don't have it.

...also I think my muscles are going to kill me tomorrow because of all the awkward shimmying I just did, so... yeah.

It's fun, and the workout was pretty much for beginners with absolutely no background in belly dancing, so some steps are easy to follow. However there were some that seem easy on screen that I just can't imitate. And it's frustrating at times when I think I've got it, only to realize that what I'm doing is essentially different from what the dancers were doing. SIGH.

I feel your pain. I don't have very good balance, and I have less grace. But I wish I could dance and move gracefully. Guess it's something to work on for me? XD

That sounds like a lot of fun actually. I've tried to search for bellydancing videos on youtube before, but I think I might've typed in the wrong word combo or something, because yeah, not much found that was of the right type of belly dancing if ya know what I mean. :P

I hope you continue though, because otherwise you won't get better! And oh man, I remember sore muscles. Take a hot bath, I think.

I'm beginning to feel the repercussions now, actually, like... the muscles on my back and the ones on my hips are beginning to... I don't know, feel thicker or something. SOB. But it's all good! At least everyday I'll have different things to follow and I won't get bored, which is essentially why I usually stop exercise routines.

I attended actual bellydancing classes for a while, and even then it took me forever to nail the moves; though once I had the basics, the other stuff came easier. It might seem impossible now, but I'd advise just keeping at it and eventually you'll get it right. You're basically training muscles you don't normally use to do things they don't know how to do, so it takes time. God knows I almost gave up on it more than a few times. ♥

Oh man, I remember that. Hips and stomach and all around my rib cage. Who knew our bodies could actually move like that. I think someone said a hot bath above, so I'll second that, as that really helped me after practices and helped prevent me from waking up totally stiff the next morning.

I TOOK A BELLYDANCING CLASS ONCE AND HAD A SIMILAR EXPERIENCE. It is weird and uncomfortable and you shake in odd ways!
