Okay, so I had no expectations whatsoever before watching Pirates of the Caribbean (did I even spell it right? Eh), but I've heard of some people shipping Jack/Elizabeth and the parallels between that ship and D/Hr, sooo... I thought I'd like it.

I still prefer Will, that stupidly noble and heroic guy, and though he's the extinct type/species of man (I mean, who'd actually be civil at a fiancee who was kissing another guy!!!), he's the one I'd rather Elizabeth end with. OR! Let those people introduce a new female, for pete's sake. Someone who'll, well, not prefer Jack.

Question! Do you think Elizabeth liking Jack was too sudden? Like, wtf? Or is it just me and my Will-colored bias?

I haven't watched PotC yet, but I'm gonna go ahead and say that I'll still prefer the Will/Liz pair.

Jack's too good to be with anyone at all. Heehee...

I absolutely love Jack, I really do. He's my favourite character. But I prefer Elizabeth with Will. I swear it's romantic in me rearing its head. I just think Will and Elizabeth fit together better than Elizabeth and Jack especially after everything in the first movie.

And yes I do think it come up way to quickly and very sudden.

Like you, I think Jack shouldn't end up with Elizabeth... he should be, you know, all available and stuff :) Jack's a great character and all but he doesn't have the greatest record with handling women. Hehe.

No, we don't think it was too sudden... well, maybe a bit. Maybe we're just biased, because we like jack/elizabeth. But we don't know how much time passed between the first and second movies. And Jack started getting interested in Elizabeth in the first movie, maybe she sort of liked Jack too, but didn't show it. or she didn't realize it until she missed him, then saw him again.

And she was still denying it to herself, she probably wouldn't have known if it weren't for the compass. We don't know quite how long she had been denying it to herself.

Admittedly, our problem with J/E is that it wasn't portrayed as well as we would have liked, but then again... it's pretty much like HP that way, hehe. The pairings aren't portrayed well. But there was slight build up in the first movie, we have to see it again to make sure of it, because we've gotten our info from a biased source (a J/E forum) but some of it we do remember ourselves.

We really don't like Will, though, maybe because we don't think Orlando Bloom did a very good job, we think he was stupid... especially with that bloody bet with Davy Jones, because if he had lost, what good would knowing where the key was be?

We suppose we just find Will boring... and the other shippers of J/E do too, from what we've read. Dunno. We never liked W/E, even in the first movie, but we thought there was no other way, but then when we saw Jack and elizabeth kiss in the trailer, we got all excited, and that's why we made it a point to watch it.

Anyhoo... it's rather annoying, for us, because we've been trying to find J/E shippers we know, but you, sandi, and april are W/E shippers... haven't asked MC yet. Our cousin is a J/E shipper (he's a guy, haha). He's not really a shipper, but that's what he prefers. We have some friends who are J/E shippers... but to be honest... :( We're rather sad that you and us ship different things now... You and sandi and april...

But anyway, we've still got Dramione, and that's what counts. :)

sandi ships w/e too? Huh., I didn't know that. I was happy april agrees with me, and I thought we're the only ones in the world. Heh.

No, we're the ones feeling like the only people in the world who ship J/E, hehe. Although we've found forums and fanfiction. Hehehe. We enjoy it. Although we wish you guys were the same as us (or we the same as you) so it'll be like D/Hr.

Erm, to be honest, I think this one will just be a fleeting fancy of some sort. Right now, I'm not looking for fanfiction or art or pics... which is a sign of obsession for me :D

Naah, not like that. In P/S I actually searched for fics. In W/E... no urge to do so.

W/E's not too bad. J/E's not too bad either. Thinking about it, J/E proposes that kind of strange excitement that D/Hr offers. Though, I dunno... for me, J/E's still different. I can't picture D/Hr in their place... Maybe because Jack and Will are friends or acquaintances or whatever? And Draco's just not that with Harry or Ron.

Btw, who do you picture Will as? More like Harry or Ron?

Anyway. Don't be sad. We'll definitely see more of this love triangle in the 3rd. :D And then there's verdict.

Yeah! I figured he seemed to be more like Harry. Hahaha, can't really see Ron in him. ^_^;

At first, we thought we liked J/E coz it's like D/hr. We mean, we were texting April, and Zarah, and telling them it was D/Hrish. But the more we thought about it, the more we realized we didn't like it because of that- we like J/E because we adore their interactions, it's exciting, it's funny, and we love what Elizabeth did to him at the end, even if she left him to die (because we know he's not dead), but to us, we really liked that because it said so much about them. She's a slytherin!

And we've been reading fanfiction... and we agree with the authors of the fics we've read- Elizabeth wouldn't be contented on land anymore, she'd want the sea, she'd want to be like the pirates.. to be equal with the men, to not have to wear corsets... haha.

The verdict... wah. Since it's Disney, and Will is like the all-perfect Disney prince, he might get the girl.

Oh, we think Will is like Harry. But stupider. And more boring... haha. We really think he's boring, honestly.

You know, the more I think about it, the more i'm convinced that Norrington's more like Draco than anyone else, especially at the end :D

Eh, I've no qualms about Jack getting Elizabeth. Just give Will another love interest!

As for Will getting the girl in the end? I dunno, I have a feeling he won't. I'm imagining some twist that'll make Elizabeth end up with Jack and live happily ever after. Am weird like that and nope, still for W/E though. XD

No, we don't think he's dead. The third movie wouldn't be worth watching without jack, even Daddy says so. We all think Jack has to be there pretty early in the movie, or else it will be boring.

We love the kiss, honestly. It strikes us as something we'd like D/Hr to do, hehe. It really shows how they're so similar, and all. We hope J/E live happily ever after, although we can't picture them being all domestic-like. Not even Elizabeth seems too maternal. We picture them on a ship, with Gibbs as their nanny, hehe. Jack and Elizabeth will rule the ship, and the pirates have to take care of the kids, hehehe. But PotC kind of glorifies pirates, they don't do their 'honest pirating', which is plundering other ships and stuff... so maybe that kind of life wouldn't be too nice for kids.

How come you're not on ym? Wanna share with you that thing about Chiara and her crush! haha

I didn't think it was too sudden. But that could be my Jack/Elizabeth-colored bias showing through, hehe.

Ever since the scene in Curse of the Black Pearl, in the beginning where Jack sort of takes Liz as cover so the guards don't shoot him, I knew I wanted them together. Then when they were stuck on the island, dancing around the fire and drinking rum, I was hooked. Needless to say that when I saw the scene of them kissing in Dead Man's Chest I was thrilled!

Will always seemed a bit boring.

He is! All heroic and noble and stuff. But it seems a bit unfair, isn't it? He goes through all that hell for her and...

I do hope he gets another girl, I mean, there *must* be another girl there somewhere!

It does seem a little unfair. Maybe he can hook up with Anamaria, the one whose boat was "borrowed without permission" by Jack in Curse of the Black Pearl! After all, he was the one who convinced Jack to give her the Interceptor as her new boat. She kind of owes him one, hehe. ;)

I don't think it was too sudden it was however a little bit off. I mean she may have liked Jack on some levels but I do not think she will ever or truly ever want to be with Jack over Will.

I was surprised how hot he was this movie. He was not in the first one. lol

I think that Norrington can kind of mirror Draco, the way his character changes (from all stuffy and upper-class like in the beginning to more desperate and... 'edgy' is the word popping into my head, and such now).

I can see that. Norrington used to be more reserved in his Slytherin actions but now like Draco he is more rash.

I like both, somehow. I mean, W/E I like because of some horribly romantic part of me that's all "zomg twoo wuv!". But the sensible (lol) part of me, the one that ships Dramione and explores characterization beyond canon (L&L thread title!!), adores J/E, because it stretches Elizabeth way more than W/E would.

Though at the end, when Elizabeth was kissing Jack, I almost screamed because she's with Will and infidelity is just not cool kthxbai.

Exactly! Though of course she was just being... well, smart and sacrifing-him-for-the-good-of-others and stuff, seeing Will see *that* was just... eh. Stab through the heart.

Still! I'd like Will to exhibit anger, more than just his not-so-cutting, "Where's Jack?" to her.

He said "Where's Jack?" in hopes that she would confess that she was having a mad love affair with him, or that he had attacked her... or, y'know, that she was sacrificing him for everyone else.

... like we couldn't totally see the J/E ship coming in the trailer (and with all those rabid fangirl postings everywhere)... (namely, the pic where Keira and Johnny are all nice and up close).
