waterfell is such a source of confusion for Nephrite. I mean, most of his motivation to improve himself comes from him trying to impress her, or at least make himself appear more than what she sees/treats him to be. These two are such classic cases of what a breakdown in communication does to people XD

Some part of Nephrite wants to save D!Mercury like what he did to his world's version of her. Still, he is also convinced that he can't because she doesn't want to be saved. And I think her taunting of his abilities has finally made him give up on this train of thought.

Nephrite is Nephrite. Mercury always has trouble differentiating between alternates because while she's strong-minded, she's not very strong emotionally.

What this means for Nephenie is that she met him ready to adore him. She'd already gone through things that made her realize 'Nephrite' was important to her, and she wanted to extend that to him and have a close relationship built on those small kindnesses they were able to feel for each other even in the Dark Kingdom.

Unfortunately... breakdown in communication, indeed. From day one, she felt Nephenie treated her very much as "Kunzite's slave", even saying it, and the goodwill wore away fast every time he snapped at her or put her down.

Nephrite sees Endymion as his one true loveMaster. I mean, this guy will gladly die for him. He's still peeved at the stunt Endymion pulled with him and Mercury, though! In any case, Nephrite will always be a faithful friend and guardian to Endymion.

Endy teases them horribly, but the shitennou are everything to him. They're all so important to him, far more than guardians; they're comrades and friends and brothers. (Yeah, he'll never fully realize that they're his enemies in some worlds, poor guy.)

As for Nephrite specifically, he's one closer to Endy's age. That makes them even closer in a way, since they can get into trouble together and play together. Especially at Starfleet Academy; being away from home together is/was definitely a bonding experience.

If only the love were returned. It'd be ridiculous to dislike Hanako (she never did the things that set Mercury against Jadeite, and she's not even against Jadeite at all anymore, either). However, Ami has little or no respect for Hanako's methods or intelligence or her silliness about love and love letters.

Nephrite... well, while he is indebted to Kunzite for telling him about the stones, he will always view him as Mercury's master - and hates him for it.

Plus, Kunzite is always aiming his sword at Nephrite's throat! That is a source of annoyance and a bit of fear, despite Nephrite's bravado.

Nephrite is a fool. He let himself be completely duped by Beryl, to the point of being reduced to his current human state. He never had the sense (as Kunzite sees it, of course) to stick to Kunzite and the other shitennou instead, and come out on top.

Of course, this is also his bond to Nephrite. It's his fault, as the shitennou's leader, that all of this happened. Kunzite doesn't really dwell on guilt, but he does feel responsible and as though he should do something to fix it. But then Nephrite goes and irritates him again.

Oh, and Mercury is his, kthx.

Hanako harbors a bit of a crush on Kunzite. It's because of his cape and long, flowing locks for hair! It's so beautiful and it makes Hanako want to comb her hands through it XD

Wut? That would probably sum up his reaction, anyway. He is not crush material - not because he's not attractive enough, of course (he has the throngs of fawning court ladies in the past life to tell him that much), but because he has absolutely different priorities that don't allow for romance until his goals are achieved, if even then. (Diverting himself with Mercury is different; she's worth it, like she was back then.)

As for Hanako personally, Kunzite is highly amused Jadeite has such an obvious, obviously feminine, alternate. He finds her rather silly, though, and can't imagine she's very competent at her supposed police job. On the other hand, at least she listens. That means there's totally hope for her.
