In fairness to his character, you would probably expect Ryuunosuke to be the last to turn away from Takeru.

But Aiba... well. I think he can pull off the NYAHAHASUCKAS acting. I hope :D

Although, I think she would more knock them out, place them in separate rooms, and taunt them about different things that they don't appreciate about her/life. And then one of them (Chiaki? :D) would break out and snap her back to normal and she'd be all amnesiatic and confuzzled on why they're all pampering her.

I literally went 'OOOOOOOOOOOOH!' when I saw this post. Hell yeah - for me, currently Ryuunosuke is one of the best things about Shinkenger. Aiba has pitched his over-acting at just the right level to make a rather adorable character *shipping him and Takeru like craaaazy.*

I think i can see that happening, and it was this post that reignited me watching the Shinkenger eps i do have. It's not my favorite, even though i still tend to like the blues. For all that the rest are cool, i'm still watching Ryuunosuke closely because someone that overacts as badly as that? Is drawing attention away from other things. So i wonder what he's hiding and when he gets mad? I think it'll be rather spectacular. *grin*


My favorite Blue is now a solid tie between Renn and Souta-kun from Boukenger. I think it was 'oh by the way, i'm bisexual' bit of crack episode about halfway through. Renn? He couldn't shine any brighter than he already did last year. Dutiful, motherly and kind and helpful. Right up until he isn't, which he proved often enough. ^_^ Also being the first to take on a Banki barehanded in ep 13? MADE OF WIN

Anyways! I encountered more spoilers and they say that an enemy caused Ryunosuke to - get this - issue a duel against Takeru. Nyahahaha I'm so excited.

My usual favorite characters are female, so the last blue one I like was Urara :D

That should be rather interesting, if awkward because Ryuunosuke knows all the theory behind the gear (being the geek that most blues are in some form or another), but he sucks at execution since he devoted more time to his beloved Kabuki. Not that i blame him though. That's his passion. Luckily he makes up for it with the stuff he does nail in the fights, and the fact that he keeps going. Even when most of the time i feel like thwapping him upside the head for overdoing it that way.

Yes, i've half a dozen theories of my own for Ryuunousuke. My other friend prefers Chiaki, but she's always loved the blacks and greens that have turned up. In sentai or power rangers form, i unerringly end up watching the blues.

It's enough that i was in high school when the very first season of Power Rangers aired in the US and i immediately glommed on to Billy. Now i'm watching the 'final' season, and i have to say they've adapted RPM quite well from GoOnger. Enough that i'm flailing and squeeing over the silly in that, and then stalking the raws of Decade and Shinkenger all saturday night after.

I wouldn't be averse to a Renn icon of him holding the boxing pose after he kicks and punches that Banki in ep 13's finale. With the words 'Boxing Clever' somewhere on it and visible. I've been trying to get stills of that shot all year and i can't manage it.

I have got to get to bed. >_< It's 5am in my neck of the woods and i have to be coherent to work by 1pm. We can discuss this another time, ne? :D

Haha, I understand. I encounter a lot of hate for Ryuunosuke in the boards I visit and I'm defensive when it comes to him. I also like Chiaki, too, so I don't know what the need for putting down one character.

I wonder if this is a temporary situation, like he's under a spell or something. Either way, it will be great to watch (and for the record, I think Aiba will nail it; I love him as Ryunosuke. :D)

I think one thing that the haters don't consider about Aiba's portrayal of Ryunosuke is that he's not just out there ad-libbing; there's a script and a director telling him how this character is supposed to be. Frankly, I think he's an acting genius to be pulling this off. I heard Furukawa Yuuta auditioned for the same part -- can anyone see him doing as well in a character like this? (I adore Yuuta, but just can't see it here.)

No, it's okay! Aiba is doing something right if people are attacking his character; it means he has his impact on them, be it good or bad. I'd like that better than the people doing MEHHHHHH over him.
