1. Tried my hand at making candles yesterday! Let's just say I failed epically at that one, but to be fair, I didn't really know what I was doing :P I basically only used paraffin wax, color and scent, so the end result wasn't really stellar and I could still improve a whole lot. I shall try it again once I've acquired other ingredients. Do any of you make your own candles, flist? Any tips you may give me?

2. Our house is being renovated again and as such is in a total disarray. Ack. I am not looking forward to the clean-up :(

3. I finally got myself a copy of the Fellowship of The Ring Extended Edition and adsgfhgkjkjl I love it so much. I've always favored The Two Towers and Return of the King because my favorite characters were there, but viewing FoTR again, after all these years, was definitely fantastic. One of these days I am going to marathon those three in proper order, but, sob, nine hours. Hah.

4. Rereading the books and just... I am obsessed with the Gondor men, namely Denethor, Faramir, and Boromir. I've always favored the Rohan folks because I love their relationship, but the Stewards have such a complicated one that I just am really immersed in it. Denethor, you are such a douche, and I am wondering why I so love you now.

5. Trivia sections fascinate me. I really am amused at the idea of Orlando Bloom or Ethan Hawke playing Faramir, and Kate Winslet or Uma Thurman or Alison Doody for Eowyn. Also, Lucy Lawless for Galadriel. Hmmmm.

6. Meme!

Basically gimme two or more characters out of my fandoms who aren't usually paired together (by me/others), and I'll write a paragraph with them together. Characters can be from the same fandom or from different fandoms.

I tried to watch all three in a row, but it was a all-night marathon in a local cinema and I ... may have fallen asleep at some point towards the end of The Two Towers. Next time I'll try during the daylight hours.

I've never tried watching two movies one after another, haha. Also for some reason I always pop in/read RoTK before the others. One of these days I shall read the books and watch the movies as they were intended to be read/watched!

Denethor, you are such a douche, and I am wondering why I so love you now.

Heh, you tell me :P Though if you happened to come across the movie first, perhaps that's why, LOL.

Lucy Lawless? Maybe. I recall I used to love her as Xena, hehe. Kate Winslet would have made a nice Eowyn, too (though by now obviously I can picture no other than Miranda...). As for Faramir, I'll admit that David's face is already ingrained in my brain, despite the small fact that in the book, Faramir's hair is dark -_-

For the meme, me gives Agri and Eri (it's my crack pairing, I admit it). I would have gone with Hiroto and Jasmine, but I don't recall whether or not you watched Go-onger.

I did come across the movie first, and I hated him because of how he treated Faramir. The book cast him in a slightly kinder light, considering he didn't really send his son to a suicide mission that the movie made it seem, but still. Then I... made an rp account for him and suddenly I was like... I don't even know, man.

I do think Uma would have made a great Eowyn too, considering the book she was tall and Miranda isn't :P Hehe. I am wondering if the Legolas/Eowyn shippers actually shipped that because it could have very well been Orlando and Miranda playing the roles of F/E.

Oh! I know Hiroto. I will do these two, then!

Ah-ha. Dethenor is a tragic character, so... yep. But heya, our tastes for character can change as time goes. So in the end, totally up to you :)

I can't speak too much for Uma mainly because there's not really much of her work that I have seen. But I gotta agree on the height thing, hehe. As for that pairing, it could have been interesting to explore. Toying with pairing ideas thanks to trivia matters or even something real-life-related... can be fun :P And it's not only us fans that do that.

Hooray! It was an odd pairing-in-building back in [livejournal.com profile] sentai_gakuen. I could never thank Meg enough for playing along on that boat with me :P It was too funny to see them interact.

[identity profile] zarahjoyce.livejournal.com 2011-03-16 01:06 pm (UTC)(link)
True! And Tolkien did create such interesting and rich characters and they're hardly cardboard characters. It's always interesting to delve deeper and ponder on why character act like they do :D

I was really surprised that such a pairing exists, considering they never interacted that much (or at all; I can't remember from the book). Then again, when has that ever stopped shippers?

Oh, did you! That's fantastic. Any threads you can share with me?

[identity profile] etapa.livejournal.com 2011-03-16 02:05 pm (UTC)(link)
That's the beauty of Tolkien :D :D

I found out thanks to [livejournal.com profile] ship_manifesto. I might have somewhat come across FF.net, but I haven't actually gotten into any. And crack pairings can be fun just like that.

It was fun, but I give Meg the credit for that :P I was going through the threads again, and may I say, it's embarrassing.

Ah! I read the L/E one as well as the F/E one. I always forget that that comm exists, sob. Thanks for reminding me!

Ha! I'm usually like that, too. Old threads usually make me lineface so much.
