"I wish to speak to you about your sister," Aragorn said to Éomer. "I fear that she plans to ride with the men not only to the encampment, but to war."
Éomer's hands stilled, and he turned to face Aragorn. "My sister is brave, but also a fool. She thinks she knows enough about war, and would fight given encouragement. 'Tis a trait I admire, and wish to be gone. Death haunts us and I cannot bear if it were to claim her." He nodded. "I shall forbid her to come with us, and have her remain in Edoras instead."
"And if she refuses?"
"Then I will have a word with our King. Even she cannot refuse orders from our Uncle."

Soldiers of Gondor marched towards Osgiliath. Towards their doom. Towards certain death.
It will depend on the manner of your return.
"Then so shall it be, Father."
There could be no victory in this battle. Faramir knew this, even as he drew his sword and shouted orders for his men to follow.
And when an Orc's foul breath assaulted his senses and its blade pierced his skin mere moments later, his last thought was that perhaps this, at last, would please his father.

The smell of death was everywhere, and pain indescribable crippled her. Despair soon took hold, and she allowed it to.
Her Uncle was gone from this world. Her shield arm was broken. The battle raged on, its sounds frightening, close. Even if she so desired to stand, she had not the strength to do so. Perhaps she was meant to die here.
The knowledge brought her solace.
Éowyn's last thought was for her brother, and she wished him safe, if not a quick death.
In war, there could be no greater mercy.

"Mark my words, snake. You may claim Rohan as yours, but it will not know you as its King. There is no man less worthy of the honor than you!" She shook, and stepped forward to point at him. "Mark my words: I shall slay you with my bare hands for what you have done!"
Wormtongue pressed his fingers to her skin and dragged them downwards, and she cringed, revolted by his touch. "Such cold words," he said softly. "Such harsh words. I do not want to see you behind bars again, my lady. It is not a place for a Queen, after all."
"That is where I want to be, if the alternative is to stand at your side. I would prefer death itself if the alternative is life with you!"
"Very well," Wormtongue said, drawing her face closer to his until they almost touched. "We shall speak again once you are... more amicable and amenable, wife. I trust it will be soon."

"Father wishes me to ride to Rivendell, little brother, and soon."
Faramir was silent, contemplating upon hearing this news. Then: "Perhaps I can go, in your stead."
"And go against his word?" Boromir asked. "He would never forgive you. 'Tis a foolish venture, Faramir!"
"What have I to lose? He had never favored me, Boromir. Perhaps he never will. But if I were to succeed, then maybe that can change."
Boromir was grim, stone-faced, prompting Faramir to ask, "Have you no faith in me?"
In response, his brother smiled and clapped him in the shoulder and said, "Come. Let us prepare you for your journey."

:D And yay for the fic! XD Can't wait to read it, whatever it'll be! :D

I see the potential now, though! And they would have made a kickass couple.
no subject
Yes, truly one kickass couple. It sucks that Tolkien didn't keep his original idea of pairing those two. D:

On the bright side, at least F/E had a happy ending? Or at least Faramir did, hehe.

How about: Five Reasons Hyde and Moune Never Went Out Together for Ice Cream.

Great! I shall get back to you with that fic as soon as I can!

Yay! I miss those two already. Final episodes didn't have enough of them (then again, it WAS the final plot, so..)
no subject
Yeah :( In fairness, at least we had two episodes with them interacting greatly? That's better than none, right? :D
no subject
True, true :) In a sense, 14 was the beginning and 42 was the wrap-up. The two elements, about the child and the old man, was something that followed them all along ever since it was brought up. The story wasn't focused ON them, but they were there, nonetheless. Sure, when it began, they learned to acknowledge the good points of what they were (Moune being the kid and Hyde the adult), but as it wrapped up in 42, they also learned to acknowledge the shortages of those characteristics. This was, for me, a huge stepstone for Moune. Epic 42 was a very important episode in her character growth. It's just the little shipper heart that wished to have seen some more. What can I say? :P

The two eps were like the two bookends on their 'relationship', hehe. And yeah. A few gestures or what-not would have sufficed! Why couldn't they give us at least that?
...also I am shipping the heck out of Luca/Joe. I... actually dreamed about them last night. Hahaha!
no subject
YES, PLEASE DO. People couldn't not excited when there's LoTR involved... Take it easy. I'm sure you'll do great :)
'Bookends'... I guess I like the sound of that. YES FOR MORE GESTURES. Though I have to admit, I sort of was "forced" to give up on a possible Hyde/Moune canon-wise when I remembered the characters' ages -_- Hyde is in his twenties, but Moune is still 17. While a one-sided crush could be possible, it was highly unlikely they would have given us a full canon ship. Oh well. It still can be played properly for fandom ideas. But for canon time, the answer would probably be "not right now". And I'm rambling.
Oh, you too? At least picture-wise, they make one hack of a pair, don't they? And there goes again, me being partial to a Blue/Yellow potential. Of course, I may change my mind about ship preferences once the story actually begins... but I have to ask. Will Toei ever give a Blue/Yellow one day? If the pictures are what we expect, I hope this will be the time they do it, should they decide to. Double rambling -.-;;

And yes to the whole 'changing my mind once the story begins'! I think I already told you about me shipping Ryuunosuke/Kotoha before Shinkenger began, and ended up on Chiaki/Kotoha, hehe. We'll never know; maybe Ahim will get Joe's attention or something - although somehow I see potential in Ahim/Don, too, hahaha!
no subject
True, I do remember :) And once the story began, I can say that Ryuu/Kotoha is one pairing I just can't picture myself shipping. Shinken is one of the rarer cases in which I actually like a Blue/Pink pairing (I rarely do) :P I love Chiaki/Kotoha for canon, though I lean a bit more for Takeru/Kotoha, me thinks. Hmm, at this time I like the idea of Ahim/Don, and since Toei did give a Green/Pink pairing once. Guess I'll have to see.

...that icon.
It amuses me far more than it should.
(He's possibly even creepier at the end of the novels.)
so cute!
