Man, I have been itching to play my Tolkien muses more, but. I've got the same predicament.

dear_mun a few times, but. I don't want to flood any comms unnecessarily with her. I just find that tagging with her is a challenge and I highly enjoy it!

Well, a LoTR community might be a bit of a challenge since chances are, Eowyn is taken... but surely you can come up with something? The creative genius is in you, after all.

Well... I'm not really sure if there is a community specifically for LoTR characters (and to be honest I haven't really looked yet). I do want to test her out somewhere public, though :D

Éowyn is all sorts of awesome and it's absurdly fun playing as her :D I don't suppose you have an LoTR character to spare? LJRP is ridiculously lacking in characters from it, sob.

Sadly, I haven't played any character out of Sentai, and I suppose it will stay that way for a while -_- Also, I'm not entirely familiar with the canon just yet. I love the LotR movie, but I'd like to be able to finish the book some day.

I play her mostly movie-based, though! I guess the only thing I'm taking from the book will be the Houses of Healing scenes, because the film ridiculously lacks it and for me, any mention of Faramir and Éowyn together is worth reading :P

Oh absolutely! I did read that scene separately, I remember, because after learning about them being canon I just had to know what really happened. Their story is just beautiful.

It really was. I shipped them so hard - although my recent rewatching of TTT and RoTK did give me some appreciation of Aragorn/Éowyn and Aragorn in general :D Still, Éowyn/Faramir is one of the rare canon couples that I really do ship hardcore!

Fact: Did you know that when Eowyn was originally written, she was supposed to be Aragorn's love interest? And that she would die in battle, and after her, Aragorn would have chosen to never marry or love, or something along those lines? It was later that Tolkien created Arwen, and the whole thing became what we have today. Not that I'm complaining, because I love Faramir/Eowyn to pieces, but it was interesting to know that.

I never really shipped the idea of Aragorn/Eowyn, mostly because I'm rarely into a pairing where the girl likes the guy but it's not reciprocated. I like Aragorn, of course, and how his heart belongs to Arwen alone, and maybe that also had a part in me not shipping him with someone else.

Oh, I assume you're not always into canon couples? Well, Draco/Hermione I know ;)

I think I read that somewhere! It's wonderful that Tolkien did end up with what we have today, though - I mean, both Éowyn and Faramir have had terrible lives, but the most terrible thing to happen to the world of men gave them both something so rare and wonderful. So romantic, sob ♥

Oh! I never really did like Arwen much, so. The extended scene of Aragorn eating Éowyn's awful cooking is just... absurdly cute though, haha!

To be honest, I only like the UST between characters and actively root for them, but once they canonically hook up? My interest in them will disappear. I love the what-if scenarios, and usually the canon ways of having characters hook up is disappointing anyway so.

Agreed to that. Faramir/Eowyn is wonderful beyond words, and I couldn't agree more on how their relationship shines exactly because of all that you just said. Couldn't have said it better.

Arwen... I'm somewhat neutral. Maybe because I like her with Aragorn, but other than that, her role is quite small, no? I like Galadriel more.

Oh, we're on similar boats, then ;) I mean, Hoji/Jasmine is not official but to this day I love that pairing so much. And if they do hook up, I sort of wish they happen in the end (Hikaru/Urara, Rio/Mele...). There are a couple exceptions, but anyhow.

I think my most favorite Elf is... Haldir. I saw him in TTT and just fell in love. Sucks that he had to die though :(

I know! At least if the hooking up did happen in the end, you'll know that the characters did have a happy ending but you don't have to watch them go lovey-dovey and everything - although I'm not sure if I would mind seeing Rio act all lovey-dovey since it's Rio and I'm curious as to how he'll actually do it :P

dramadramaduck, though? I'm still not 100% sure about this, since I do have a character in there already but I haven't played her yet. Still, it might be a good fit since the characters do stay in their own worlds instead of being stuck in an alternate dimension.

I've had a quick look through the rules and FAQs and it certainly looks promising. The activity requirements aren't too heavy and I definitely don't think jamjar type scenarios would be right for Lord of the Rings characters.

Right? Only twenty comments for two months and if we apply this month, we'll be exempted on the next AC. The question of canon point will be the problem, since I think most of the canonmates take the characters from a similar timeline. If we take them from TTT, then... they won't know each other but will have a lot of things to journal about, it being the war and all. Although that will be good too, since they can freak out at apparently being in the same freakin' world.

Hmmmmmm. They'd probably still have a lot to journal about it we took them from the end of RotK, so that isn't necessarily ruled out. Aragon's coronation / wedding, Theoden's funeral, the slow and probably messy rebuilding of Middle-earth, etc. I'm going to be very unhelpful and say that I'm flexible.
