They are. I think I liked the idea of them before I found out they were actually a canon pairing. I was somewhat surprised.

I don't even remember how I got into liking them, but I do like TTT and RoTK because of them - RoTK especially because of them interacting. That House of Healing scene always makes me melt. David Wenham, why so dreamy ♥
