Melodramatic much?
There is a slightly BIG possibility that I may go to the States this summer. TO WORK there.
*sigh*
My sister's going to the States because she applied and got accepted in a company that just happens to be in Michigan. My mom's thinking of either her accompanying my sister for a few weeks or months, or ME accompanying my sister for weeks or months. I'm thinking we three should go there.
Just thinking about leaving makes me teary-eyed...
But I might be able to pursue writing THERE. The Philippines offers me no writing opportunities whatsoever. I'm not being unpatriotic or whatever, but I believe I write better in English. I specialize in fiction. And English fiction in the Philippines is such at the bottom of the writing barrel.
There may be greener pastures in another country for an aspiring writer like me.
*sigh*
This is such a big decision to make. I abhor making decisions this big.

You're leaving? Aw... If you do choose to leave, how often will you come back?

I know how you feel about leaving, though.. October 23, 2004.. I was bawling like crazy.. That was the day that we left. *sigh*
*sigh* Hmmm.. Think about it long and hard, Zarah.. As you said, you might be able to pursue a writing career here. Plus, if you decide to come here, it's not like you're not ever going back to the Philippines, right? Er, I think. A few months isn't so bad--compared to not being in the Phils & seeing your friends for more than a year. :P
Goodluck with the decision-making! ;)

Of course, don't let us influence your decision... we'll probably end up leaving to study in England one day, so... oh, we don't know. :D This doesn't help, but: do whatever you think is best... we understand that this could be a huuge thing for you and your career. :D
Just make sure you come back to the Philippines, you know? Surely UP has instilled all of that stuff in you, haha. :)
At the same time.... aww, makes us sad...

Problem is, if my ate goes to work there, the possibility is that we're going to be in the States for more than a year. WAAAHHH!!!
Thanks for the support, though :)

Still with the blood spilling, just... I'll be oceans away.
Well, actually it's not yet confirmed, as my ate asked for extension until april 15. Originally she had to be there by april 1. If they don't agree with the extension, we stay. But if they do... WAAHH!

Part of us wants to be really selfish and say "don't go!!!" but if you'll have a better shot at a writing career there, we'll just say "Go, get a good career and dedicate a book to us. :D" hehe.
But seriously, we're going to miss you... you won't be 'a text away' anymore, you'll be an email away... and there'll be the timezone difference and all... and we can't just call you up and listen to you say all the weird stuff you say, like "Shut the door, freak." hehe

"Shut the door, freak."
Well.... haha!
As I said, it's not yet confirmed. Malay mo, I won't be able to go pala :)

But your visa- what kind of visa is that? Don't you need special visas for working there or studying there?
And what about your brother and your dad? you didn't mention them... hehe

They'll be staying behind to look after our properties here.
But your visa- what kind of visa is that?
The company's willing to give my ate a working visa. Me, I don't know yet... the specifics aren't clear yet. probab;y, if i go to the states, i'll find a job that'll help me with the visa thing

Well, we hear they're looking for teachers in the States... right? hehe And anyway, your english is good, so you should be able to get a good job. :D
We'll just meet up with Ayen and talk and have fun and show you all that you're missing. HA! Kidding... hehe.
=(
(Anonymous) 2006-03-30 02:43 pm (UTC)(link)...just wanted to say that.
...But yes, there's a big chance you'll get better opportunities there... you'll finally get to do what you want, and I'll be happy to see you chase after your dreams...
... but in the meantime... ayaaaaaw! Don't gO! Paano na ang ating samahan?! Ang coffee bean & tea leaf? Ang kwentuhan? Ang asaran? Ang ating CSA (condo slash apartment) na di pa natutuloy?!?!
